OBHS Destroyed in recent Tornado

A recent storm and tornado

A recent thunderstorm wreaked havoc throughout Ohio recently hit Berlin High School and Berlin Middle School. The tornado, a few hours before the incident at Berlin destroyed an RV park North of Dayton, Ohio.dailymail.co even calls it a “mass casualty event” It is still unclear how many total people died but we do know that not everyone survived.

The tornado and storm affected other states heavily, especially southern Indiana. The damage in southern Indiana is extensive. Fox Weather’s meteorologist team says some of the damage was consistent with an EF-2 tornado, but other experts say it possibly could have been an EF-3.

How to stay safe for next time

  • Seek shelter immediately (most important step)
  • Stay away from windows and doors
  • Wrapping yourself in a rug offers extra protection
  • Seek out a basement, interior corridor, tunnel, underground parking lot, or subway
  • Know the difference between a watch (conditions are favorable for a tornado to form) and a warning (a tornado has been spotted in your area and you should take shelter immediately)
  • Avoid auditoriums, upper floors of buildings, trailers, and parked vehicles
